Malta: ISESCO Participation in a Regional Conference

The (ISESCO) Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization took part in the first regional conference held in Malta, in the city of Valetta on 8^th to 9^th November 2010. The reason why this regional conference took place was for the Mediterranean of United Nations Alliance of Civilizations. The ISESCO was represented in the conference by Mohamed Bensalah.

Oman hosting Quran Seminar and Contest for Persian Gulf Youth:

On November 7, In the Omani capital of Masqat the 22nd Quran and Hadith Competition for the youth of six Arab states is going to start. It is stated that it will be under the patronage of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC). The competition is held in two separate sections of Quran memorization, recitation and Tajweed (articulation rules) and prophetic Hadith memorization for three age groups of 10 to 14, 15 to 18 and 19 to 25. Before reaching it to the final stage of PGCC competition and contest all of the contestants have to go through the qualifying round. The Persian Gulf Cooperation Council is a bloc involving six Arab countries namely United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait with economic and social objectives. Efforts being made to publish the 8th Volume of Quran Encyclopedia:

The department of Qom;s Seminary has decided to release the 8^th volume of the encyclopedia of the Holy Quran. In an interview with the head of the project Ali Islami told this encyclopedia being complied contains the most recent and updated articles as respect to the on going situation of the world. He also said the seven volumes of this encyclopedia have been published before and efforts are being made to compile the ninth volume as well.
